Grants for New Educators
Foundations Family Day Care is thrilled to offer two innovative grant programmes to Educators who are new to our service, whether you have worked in Family Day Care before or are starting from scratch. Each programme has 20 grants available for Educators who meet the conditions between 2nd December 2024 and 1st June 2025.
Commencement Grant
Our Commencement Grant programme is to support new Educators in recognition of the financial challenges in commencing the provision of education and care in a Family Day Care setting. This grant programme also aims to increase the number of Educators in Victoria and select areas of South Australia between 2nd December 2024 and either 1st June 2025 or when 20 Commencement Grants have been paid, whichever comes first. Business Builder Grant
Our Business Builder Grant programme aims to encourage new Educators to quickly build their business to a sustainable and viable level and to increase the number of Educators in Victoria and select areas of South Australia between 2nd December 2024 and either 1st June 2025 or when 20 Business Builder Grants have been paid, whichever comes first. Commencement Grant Programme Conditions
Each Commencement Grant is $500.
There is a limit of 20 Commencement Grants available.
The claimant is responsible for any taxation or other requirements in relation to their Commencement Grant.
The claimant must meet all the requirements of becoming a Foundations Family Day Care Educator and be performing and interacting to the expected standards of a Foundations Family Day Care Educator.
The claimant must apply and commence working with Foundations Family Day Care between 2nd December 2024 and 1st June 2025.
During and following the Commencement Grant period, the claimant must be fully compliant with their Educator Agreement.
The claimant must complete their first full Centrelink fortnight of education and care with Foundations Family Day Care in accordance with their Educator Agreement, with a minimum of one child for one day of each week.
The claimant must submit the claim form through the portal within 2 weeks of the new Educator meeting the requirements.
If the claimant commences prior to 1st June 2025 but meets the other conditions of the Commencement Grant after 1st June 2025, it is possible for the claimant to claim the Commencement Grant after that date. The final date of any claim for the Commencement Grant must be received by 30th June 2025.
The claimant must be in Victoria or in one of the following South Australian areas: Mt Gambier, Roxby Downs, Barmera, the eastern half of the Eyre Peninsula and Port Wakefield. (For specifically mentioned towns, the new Educator must be within 60kms of those towns by road.)
For each claimant, only one Commencement Grant is available.
It is possible to claim both the Commencement Grant and the Business Builder Grant.
Our ningimpi (Director/Coordinator) has the right to determine and decide on the validity of any claim or to terminate this Grant for any reason at any time, removing any rights to claiming or receiving this Grant.
Business Builder Grant Programme Conditions
Each Business Builder Grant is $500.
There is a limit of 20 Business Builder Grants available.
The claimant is responsible for any taxation or other requirements in relation to their Business Builder Grant.
The claimant must meet all the requirements of becoming a Foundations Family Day Care Educator and be performing and interacting to the expected standards of a Foundations Family Day Care Educator.
The claimant must apply and commence working with Foundations Family Day Care between 2nd December 2024 and 1st June 2025.
Prior to, during and following the Business Builder Grant period, the claimant must be fully compliant with their Educator Agreement.
The claimant must complete three consecutive Centrelink fortnights of education and care with Foundations Family Day, with a minimum of 80 hours of permanent bookings each week and with those bookings to continue.
The claimant must submit the claim form through the portal within 2 weeks of the new Educator meeting the requirements.
If the claimant commences prior to 1st June 2025 but meets the other conditions of the Business Builder Grant after 1st June 2025, it is possible for the claimant to claim the Business Builder Grant after that date. The final date of any claim for the Business Builder Grant must be received by 1st September 2025.
