Early Childhood Education and Care in a Natural, Home Environment

At Foundations Family Day Care, every child feels at home. Our exceeding-rated service supports your child to be themselves, to belong to their family and community, and to become whatever they want to be.

Our Educators across Victoria and South Australia provide high-quality care from their homes, with small groups of no more than seven children at a time (including no more than four children below school age). Children thrive in this highly personalised environment, empowered to form close relationships with their Educators and peers, and to explore their community in unique and exciting ways.

What makes Foundations special?

Children as Individuals

We have a strong focus on seeing children as individuals, giving them tools to build their self-confidence and resilience.

The Natural Environment

We encourage children to participate in natural environments and experiences daily, including the use of stones, mud, rocks, wood, sand and wide open spaces, and support our Educators to enable this.

Skills for Life

We support young children in developing pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills, setting them up with skills they will use throughout their lives.

Sharing our Learning

Foundations Educators and staff are constantly learning and growing our knowledge and skills. We love sharing what we’ve learned with each other, with the families we serve, and with other services in our communities.

The Comfort of Home

Children thrive in a Family Day Care environment like Foundations, because care takes place in the Educators’ homes. This helps children feel comfortable and safe in our Educators’ care.

Round-the-Clock Care

We have two Service-supplied Educator Assistants available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to assist with emergency care needs.

“Our daughter has absolutely blossomed under the excellent care and education given to her!”
